The 1st USIP World Police Games started today with a spectaculair opening ceremony at the venue of the Colombian Police Academy General Francisco De Paulo Santander in Bogota. Delegations of 31 countries presented themselves to the audience during a flag parade. The Cadetes of the Police Academy gave a wonderful demonstration of there disciplinair skills and the band of the Police Academy gave a beautiful musical performance. Director of the Colombian National Police General Palomino in his opening speech: “The Colombian National Police is very proud to organize the 1st USIP Police Games and that sport is a important tool for the Police profession.” The USIP President Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah said in his opening speech that the USIP was convinced that Colombia was the perfect organiser to organize the 1st USIP World Police Games and above that he was sure these games will be a great succes for the Colombian Police, the athletes and the people of Colombia. Head of the Organizing Colombian Committe Brig. General Gonzalo Londono said in his speech that his organizing committee did an enormous effort to organize this event. He was very proud of his organizing committee and the Cadetes of the Police Academy because of what was established in the last 1 and 1/2 year since the start of the kick-off of the preparations of this event. After the speeches the Human Protector Torch was brought into the stadium by the famous National Colombian Cyclist Nairo Quintana. After lighting of the 1st USIP World Police Games Fire a spectaculair Salsa show started with a World Famous Salsa group from Cali. At the end of the show a great FireWorks show made this opening ceremony a complete and spectaculair event.
